St. John Bosco Ministries

"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service

but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone."

1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Our Parish offers many different opportunities for returning our gifts of time and talent to God. As stewards of God-given skills and abilities, volunteering in a ministry or organization provides a way to thank God, share our faith with others, and enhance our community.

Parish Council

Comprised of clergy and laity, the purpose of the council is to assist the pastor in the ministry of the parish, to enable the parish to share in the general pastoral guidelines of the Diocese of Burlington and to promote programs and activities recommended or presented by the Diocesan Bishop.

Finance Committe

This is a consultative body offering advice to the pastor on financial matters for the parish. Members assist the pastor and bookkeeper in areas such as preparing budgets, reviewing income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash flow. Input is provided on major decisions concerning: ordinary operations, the management of parish assets or significant administrative acts that may incur a long-term expense to the parish.

Ladies of St. Ann

The object of the Ladies of St. Ann is threefold: the mutual benefits of its members, furthering charitable activities and aiding in the financial support of the church. The group works together with the parish on many spiritual and social events during the year.  The function of the Ladies of St. Ann is to reach out to others as an extension of its Christian and Stewardship commitment.  Any Catholic woman of Stamford or vicinity may become a member.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic ministers) assist the priest at Mass in the distribution of Holy Communion. Some ministers also bring Holy Communion to our sick and elderly parishioners. Please contact the parish priest if you wish to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Prior to serving, you must complete a short seminar class and sign a commitment to live and uphold the Catholic Faith.
